British Triple Crown Champions
In England, where the term Triple Crown originated with West Australian's three wins in 1853, the series is made up of the following races:
Two Thousand Guineas Stakes, run over one mile at Newmarket Racecourse in Newmarket, Suffolk;
Epsom Derby, run over one and a half miles at Epsom Downs in Epsom, Surrey;
St. Leger Stakes, run over one mile, six furlongs and 132 yards at Town Moor in Doncaster, Yorkshire.
Since 1853 since when this series began, only 15 horses have won the English Triple Crown. Ten of these champions are Colista's Great-Grand Sires (Great-Grandfathers).
